William Roehl


Board Member

William Roehl was appointed to the Western Washington Growth Management Board in June 2008 to a six-year term.

Roehl was elected to the Whatcom County Board of Freeholders in 1978 and participated in drafting a Home Rule Charter for the County. Thereafter he was on the Whatcom County Council from 1979 until 1991. During most of that time, he was a member of the Planning and Development Committee, tasked with updating the county’s comprehensive plan and zoning ordinances. Roehl also served as a member of the Washington State Fish and Wildlife Commission from 1997 until 2008.

Roehl is a Bellingham native, a graduate of Whitman College with a BA in economics and a law degree from the University of Puget Sound (now Seattle University School of Law). He practiced law in Bellingham for nearly 35 years. Roehl is married to Kelli Linville and resides in Bellingham.
